Jen is a Pennsylvania native, earning her Bachelor’s degree from the Pennsylvania State University and spending time during her training working at SmithKline Beecham Pharmaceuticals (now GlaxoSmithKline). She holds a PhD in Cellular Physiology from Michigan State University, studying intracellular protein trafficking in the kidney. She completed her postdoctoral training at Dartmouth with Bruce Stanton, shifting her focus to host-pathogen interactions and protein trafficking in the respiratory tract. Jen started her independent research program at the University of Pittsburgh in the Microbiology and Molecular Genetics department, where she rose through the ranks to Professor, Director of the University of Pittsburgh Cystic Fibrosis Research Development Program and Vice Chair of Graduate Education. She returns to Dartmouth with her research team, studying viral-bacterial and polymicrobial interactions in the respiratory tract. Outside of the lab, Jen is a passionate gardener, cook and is happy to be back in the mountains for hiking.
