{"id":181,"date":"2021-05-12T17:47:53","date_gmt":"2021-05-12T17:47:53","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/geiselmed.dartmouth.edu\/class-day\/?p=181"},"modified":"2021-05-12T17:49:35","modified_gmt":"2021-05-12T17:49:35","slug":"class-day-2021-updates","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/geiselmed.dartmouth.edu\/investiture\/2021\/05\/12\/class-day-2021-updates\/","title":{"rendered":"Class Day 2021 Updates"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Please see below for the details we have confirmed regarding the upcoming Awards and Class Day ceremonies.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Tuesday, May 25, 2021 \u2013 6:00 pm<\/p>\n<p><b>Awards Ceremony<br \/>\n<\/b>Location:\u00a0 On the lawn between Life Science Center, Remsen and Anonymous Hall (<b>RAIN OR SHINE<\/b>) As we track the weather if there becomes a threat of severe weather (extremely high winds, lightening, or anything life threatening) a <b>SEVERE weather call will be made by 3:00pm on this day.\u00a0 A severe weather call means our ceremony will transition to a remote format. All students, families, guests will watch the ceremony in their own area of lodging.<\/b><\/p>\n<p>Per Dartmouth College Policy, family and friends will only be allowed to attend one graduation event; therefore, the in-person component of the awards ceremony will be only for students, faculty award recipients, essential faculty and staff.<\/p>\n<p>We provide a Livestream of the ceremony for family &amp; friends to view.\u00a0 A link will be provided as we get closer to the date.<\/p>\n<p>Those who attend this ceremony must always adhere to the social distancing guidelines and wear a mask.<\/p>\n<p>Award recipients will have assigned seating.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Wednesday, May 26, 2021 \u2013 6:00 pm<\/p>\n<p><b>Class Day Ceremony<br \/>\n<\/b>Location:\u00a0 On the lawn between Life Science Center, Remsen and Anonymous Hall (<b>RAIN OR SHINE<\/b>) As we track the weather if there becomes a threat of severe weather (extremely high winds, lightening, or anything life threatening) a <b>SEVERE weather call will be made by 3:00 pm on this day.\u00a0 A severe weather call means our ceremony will transition to a remote format. Seating for guests is in progress.<\/p>\n<p>All graduates, guests, faculty and staff must always adhere to the social distancing guidelines and wear masks. Geisel masks will be mailed to you within the next couple of days.<\/p>\n<p><b>Regalia:\u00a0 <\/b>I received an email this morning from our vendor letting me know all remaining regalia orders were mailed Saturday via 2-Day UPS.\u00a0 If you do not have your regalia by Wednesday evening, please email me ASAP\/<\/p>\n<p><b>Additional items:<\/b><\/p>\n<p>***Before any student can attend our ceremonies or the Commencement ceremony, they must submit proof of being fully vaccinated to (<a href=\"mailto:Medical.Records@Dartmouth.edu\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Medical.Records@Dartmouth.edu<\/a>). If you have not done this, please do so ASAP.<\/p>\n<p>*** We look forward to seeing you in person to celebrate your achievement. Health and safety are our highest priorities as we gather for these happy occasions. Please respond to the<a href=\"http:\/\/dartgo.org\/commencetravel\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"> Commencement Travel Survey<\/a> to determine the travel quarantine and COVID-19 testing requirements that you must follow before you will be granted access to participate in person.<\/p>\n<p><b>***Rehearsal:<\/b>\u00a0 I will be scheduling a virtual rehearsal for all.\u00a0 This includes those graduates who will not be at the class day ceremony in-person. This rehearsal in mandatory.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><b>If you plan on attending Commencement on June 13:<\/b><\/p>\n<p>Please make sure to review the<a href=\"https:\/\/www.dartmouth.edu\/commence\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"> Dartmouth Commencement website<\/a> for logistics and information for attending graduation events on campus.<\/p>\n<p>I am sure there are questions that have not been answered in this email.\u00a0 I welcome your questions.
