Keynote Speaker
Emmanuel Mensah, M.D., MBA is the Chief Medical Officer of ChristianaCare’s Wilmington Hospital and Clinical Assistant Professor of Medicine at Sidney Kimmel Medical College at Thomas Jefferson University.
As the senior physician executive of Wilmington Hospital, Dr. Mensah leads initiatives to enhance quality, safety, clinical outcomes, and patient experience across the continuum of care. He serves as a critical bridge between medical staff, operational leadership, and the broader community, ensuring that healthcare delivery remains patient-centered and equitable.
Dr. Mensah’s career has been defined by a commitment to health system innovation, quality improvement, and health equity, with a particular focus on global health and developing countries. He is a member of the Africa CDC/African Union High-Level Advisory Committee on Noncommunicable Diseases (NCDs), Injuries, and Mental Health, where he contributes to shaping strategies that address the growing burden of these conditions worldwide.
Before joining ChristianaCare, Dr. Mensah was the Managing Director of the Center for Integration Science in Global Health Equity—a World Health Organization Collaborating Center—at Brigham and Women’s Hospital / Harvard Medical School. He also served as Firm Chief in the Department of Medicine at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center (BIDMC) / Harvard Medical School, where he was recognized with multiple teaching awards, including Harvard Medical School’s prestigious Charles McCabe Faculty Prize for Excellence in Teaching.
Dr. Mensah’s expertise in healthcare strategy is further informed by his experience as a consultant at McKinsey & Company, where he worked with health systems globally on care delivery transformation and operational efficiency.
He earned his M.D. from Harvard Medical School and his MBA from Harvard Business School. He completed his internal medicine residency at BIDMC, where he was recognized for his leadership and excellence in clinical care. Dr. Mensah holds an A.B. in Mathematics and Biology from Dartmouth College.
