I chose Dartmouth’s MCB program for its breadth and diversity of research opportunities and topics, but ultimately chose immunology as my thesis research. I made this decision despite having never taken an immunology course, but my experience living through a pandemic and learning about the fascinating interplay between cellular and molecular mechanisms in an immunological context motivated me to pursue the research topics in the Huang Lab where I’ve most recently been investigating how in vitro polarization of CAR-T cells can improve their efficacy against solid tumors.
