The NH AHEC Scholars Program gives future health professionals an opportunity to explore these connections while learning directly from communities, healthcare professionals, and one another.<\/p>\n<p><strong>As an AHEC Scholar, you will have opportunities to:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Learn more about health equity and disparities in New Hampshire<\/li>\n<li>Build skills for working as part of an interprofessional healthcare team<\/li>\n<li>Learn from communities and understand the strengths and needs of different regions of the state<\/li>\n<li>Connect with students and professionals from across New Hampshire<\/li>\n<li>Explore careers in rural health, primary care, public health, and underserved settings<\/li>\n<li>Better understand how healthcare systems, policies, workforce needs, and community resources affect health<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><\/div><!--\/.tab--><\/p>\n<p><div class=\"tab tab-%f0%9f%91%a5-who-participates\"><\/p>\n<p><strong>AHEC Scholars is an interprofessional program.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Students from different areas of healthcare and public health learn with and from one another.<\/p>\n<p>Participants may include students studying:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Nursing<\/li>\n<li>Public health<\/li>\n<li>Medicine<\/li>\n<li>Physician assistant studies<\/li>\n<li>Other health professions (e.g. social work, psychology, pharmacy etc.)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Scholars connect across institutions including <strong>Geisel School of Medicine at Dartmouth, Franklin Pierce University, and the University of New Hampshire<\/strong>, while also learning from healthcare professionals and community partners throughout the state.<\/p>\n<p><\/div><!--\/.tab--><\/p>\n<p><div class=\"tab tab-%f0%9f%8c%b1-what-you-will-gain\"><\/p>\n<p><strong>By the end of the program, AHEC Scholars will have opportunities to strengthen five key areas:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Understand Health Equity in New Hampshire<br \/>\n<\/strong>Learn how geography, access to services, workforce availability, policy, and community resources can influence health.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Work Across Professions<br \/>\n<\/strong>Strengthen communication, teamwork, shared decision-making, and collaborative care skills by learning alongside students from other health professions.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Learn With Communities<br \/>\n<\/strong>Explore local strengths, priorities, challenges, and resources through community-based learning experiences.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Build Your Professional Network<br \/>\n<\/strong>Meet students, faculty, healthcare professionals, and community partners from across New Hampshire to build relationships that can support mentorship, collaboration, and future career opportunities.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Explore Your Career Path<br \/>\n<\/strong>Gain exposure to rural health, primary care, public health, community-based care, and other areas where the healthcare workforce is especially important.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><\/div><!--\/.tab--><\/p>\n<p><div class=\"tab learning and networking events<\/li>\n<li><strong>2<\/strong> New Hampshire-based community experiences<\/li>\n<li><strong>4 hours<\/strong> of didactic learning<\/li>\n<li>Reflection and integration activities throughout the program<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Activities are spread across the Winter, Spring, and Summer terms so scholars can build their experience over time.<\/p>\n<p>Participants who successfully complete the program earn recognition as an <strong>NH AHEC Scholar<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p><\/div><!--\/.tab--><\/p>\n<p><div class=\"tab
