Disability information will be shared only on a need-to-know basis with appropriate college officials in the provision of disability-related services and accommodations.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2>Disability Information<\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt\">Information contained in a student's file\u00a0is considered part of their educational record and is protected under the FERPA. Information may be released from the file in only three circumstances:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 14pt\">Court order<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 14pt\">With the student's written permission<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 14pt\">Internally within Dartmouth based on a legitimate educational reason<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt\">Unless otherwise discussed, the GSAS office will typically notify appropriate Geisel or Dartmouth officials with a legitimate educational need to know about your accommodation, in order to carry it out.
