Geisel Faculty Standpoint Survey

Geisel recognizes the importance of receiving feedback from our faculty to assess what faculty members perceive as both the strengths of the school (and where we have made progress in the past two years), as well as where there are substantive challenges and opportunities that we should address.

To this end, Geisel has contracted with the Association of American Medical Colleges (AAMC) to be one of the contributing academic partners of the StandPoint Surveys. Choosing the AAMC/Standpoint Program provides us with many advantages, including a mechanism to receive anonymous feedback, the backing of a professional organization with almost a decade of experience in constructing and implementing these surveys, and access to data from other medical schools, which will allow us to compare our own progress in time, as well as in relationship to our peers.

We will be seeking faculty input to inform senior leadership of Geisel, Dartmouth College, D-H and the VAMC on what are the most pertinent issues and on your priorities for how we can best support faculty professional development.

The survey is completely confidential. To ensure confidentiality, the AAMC will provide our medical school with only aggregated results in which individuals cannot be identified. Your identity will be carefully protected by the AAMC and your privacy will be maintained in all published and written data shared with Geisel, any of its employing partners (e.g., D-H, the VAMC) or other schools. The AAMC will not use any individual faculty member's name or email address for any purpose other than to contact you to participate in this study.

All aggregate data from the survey will be made available to the Geisel faculty. Following the completion of the survey, we will convene a faculty task force to review the data and to formulate recommendations for an action plan.
