Biography

Erin Barnett, PhD, is an Associate Professor of Psychiatry and Health Policy and Clinical Practice at Dartmouth. She is a faculty member at the Dartmouth Trauma Interventions Research Center and Vulnerable Children’s Research Group. Her career as a clinical psychologist has focused on improving mental health services for vulnerable children and families. Dr. Barnett's work employs a mix of qualitative and quantitative research methods, community-based participatory strategies, program development, and implementation science, as well as teaching, training, mentoring, clinical care, and service . Her research and clinical interests lie in trauma-informed child welfare practices and shared decision-making and deprescribing in child psychiatry. Through this work she has changed practices and policies within multiple child-serving systems while building the evidence base for interventions and programs and improving the skills of hundreds of students, trainees, and professionals.
