Biography

Nadine Carter, DNP, FNP-C, BC-ADM, ACHPN, earned her Doctorate of Nurse Practice for Primary Care Family Nurse Practitioner from the University of Utah in 2015. During her prior nursing career, which involved pediatric specialty, Nadine became a counselor at a camp in the Idaho wilderness for kids with Type 1 diabetes. She was awed by the adaptability of these kids with a complicated disease, and saw a big gap in knowledge between medical providers guidelines and daily management of diabetes seen at camp, so she pursued Endocrinology as a specialty. She practiced for 7 years as a provider in outpatient Endocrinology and Diabetes, including earning her board certification in Advanced Diabetes Management. She recently moved to New England, completed a year-long fellowship at Dartmouth Health in Hospice and Palliative Medicine, and earned her board certification in Advanced Hospice & Palliative Nursing. Nadine currently combines her two specialties by filling a unique niche in End-of-Life Diabetes Management. Nadine strives to continue working with her two specialties at Dartmouth Health, and enjoys spreading her knowledge and passion for these topics to her colleagues.

Nadine is a native Idahoan, and escaped to New England in 2022 with her husband Scott and her 2 standard poodles to live the slow life. She spends her time riding bikes (a passionate bike commuter), practicing piano and fiddle, enjoying craft beer and cider, and working outdoors on her fledgling cider apple farm and garden.
