Professional Interests

I'm passionate about spreading primary palliative skills to a wider range of health care clinicians and disciplines, including through my work on the Project ECHO Palliative course which began in the fall of 2021. As the current Director of Inpatient Services for the Section of Palliative Medicine, I am focused on helping the inpatient branch of my team better serve our patients and consulting team members; this includes active projects investigating our current ICU trigger system and associated consults, inpatient POLST completion, opioid use and safety concerns for patients at end of life, and utilization of interdisciplinary support services. I am also a member of my team's Bereavement Steering Committee which aims to improve support for bereaved care partners.
