Hedi Schroeck is a pediatric anesthesiologist and the Director of Non-Operating-Room Anesthesia at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center, NH. Her research interest focuses on understanding workload and stressors for anesthesia providers delivering care in non-operating room anesthesia (NORA) locations, and using this knowledge to improve team work and multiprofessional crisis management in the NORA environment. She is the current recipient of the Department of Anesthesiology A&D Glass scholarship award, which provides her with protected time and start-up funding to examine anesthesia provider workload and emotions during neurosurgical cases in two different work environments – the normal operating room and a remote hybrid MRI-operating room. Moreover, Hedi Schroeck is developing inter-professional mock crisis simulation modules for the MRI-OR and other NORA locations.
Dr. Schroeck serves as the Associate Director of Anesthesiology Quality and Safety and participates in hospital-wide safety initiatives.
Hedwig Schroeck completed her medical school training in Munich, Germany. She received her anesthesiology residency and pediatric anesthesia fellowship training at the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill, NC. She has previously held faculty positions at the University of North Carolina and the University of Michigan (Mott Children’s Hospital).
