Jeanne Shaheen of NH, highlighting how her <a href=\"https:\/\/geiselmed.dartmouth.edu\/epidemiology\/2026\/06\/19\/new-study-reveals-endothelial-cell-dna-methylation-changes-associated-with-breast-cancer\/\">research on cell-type-specific DNA methylation alterations<\/a> in the tumor microenvironment aims to uncover mechanisms of tumor progression and identify new therapeutic opportunities.\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p>Recently published in <a href=\"https:\/\/doi.org\/10.1038\/s42003-026-10393-8\">Communications Biology<\/a>, findings from Barbara's research alongside other members of the department, reveals that endothelial cells\u2014the cells that line blood vessels\u2014undergo distinct epigenetic alterations in breast cancer tissue.
