{"id":1497,"date":"2020-03-27T11:19:45","date_gmt":"2020-03-27T15:19:45","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/geiselmed.dartmouth.edu\/epidemiology\/?p=1497"},"modified":"2020-04-09T11:49:55","modified_gmt":"2020-04-09T15:49:55","slug":"covid-19-new-hampshire-population-survey","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/geiselmed.dartmouth.edu\/epidemiology\/2020\/03\/27\/covid-19-new-hampshire-population-survey\/","title":{"rendered":"COVID-19 New Hampshire population survey"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"\">\n<div class=\"WordSection1\">\n<div class=\"\">\n<div class=\"\">\n<p class=\"\"><span class=\"\">Researchers at Dartmouth\u2019s Geisel School of Medicine, in collaboration with the University of New Hampshire (UNH) Survey Center, have launched a COVID-19 community survey, in an effort to track the progress of the outbreak in New Hampshire and factors associated with transmission.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"\"><span class=\"\">The online survey has been launched and sent to the Granite State Panel\u2014a cohort of nearly 3,400 New Hampshire residents that have been randomly selected over the past few years and have agreed to participate in statewide research. The Panel has been part of an effort by the Survey Center to investigate new ways of gathering and understanding the opinion of New Hampshire residents.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"\"><span class=\"\">In addition to tracking an expanding list of daily symptoms, the study will allow the researchers to gather other important data such as: factors associated with household transmissions, how often people practice hand sanitizing and social distancing, how often they leave their homes to do shopping or other activities, and how using supplements like vitamin D and probiotics may influence symptoms.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"\"><span class=\"\">This project is supported by emergency funding from The Hitchcock Foundation and in-kind support by UNH Survey Center staff.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>You can find updates from this survey <a href=\"https:\/\/cola.unh.edu\/unh-survey-center\/projects\/dartmouthunh-covid-19-survey\">here.<\/a><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Researchers at Dartmouth\u2019s Geisel School of Medicine, in collaboration with the University of New Hampshire (UNH) Survey Center, have launched a COVID-19 community survey, in an effort to track the progress of the outbreak in New Hampshire and factors associated with transmission.
