\"\"T<\/span>he Epidemiology Department is committed to excellence in training of students to be the leaders of the next generation of scientists and physicians. Our teaching mission focuses on providing students with a rigorous foundation of epidemiologic principles and methods while also providing students with courses and experiences to demonstrate the reach of epidemiology into all aspects of biomedical research and modern medicine.<\/p>\n


\nGraduate Program<\/a><\/strong>
\nFaculty in the department lead and participate in teaching courses for medical, graduate, and undergraduate students and mentor epidemiology-focused PhD students through the interdisciplinary\u00a0Quantitative Biomedical Sciences\u00a0<\/b><\/a>graduate program. A list of Epidemiology courses offered as part of the Quantitative Biomedical Sciences PhD program can be found\u00a0here<\/b><\/a>.<\/p>\n

Our faculty also mentor students in other PhD programs at Dartmouth, including the Molecular and Cellular Biology Program<\/b><\/a>, and Masters Programs through\u00a0The Dartmouth Institute<\/b><\/a>. In addition, the Epidemiology Department hosts undergraduate students in experiential research opportunities with faculty members.<\/p>\n

Postdoctoral Program<\/strong><\/a>
\nEpidemiology faculty also serve as mentors to post-doctoral trainees. Margaret Karagas, Department Chair, co-directs the T32 post-doctoral Training Program for Quantitative Population Sciences in Cancer<\/strong><\/a>, offering cross-disciplinary training to post-doctoral fellows. Faculty members in the department also mentor post-doctoral fellows for K- and other faculty development opportunities, while senior faculty in the department provide mentoring to early career faculty as they develop as independent investigators.
