Professional Interests: Bruce L. Riddle is the registry manager for the New Hampshire State Cancer Registry, a group within the Department of Epidemiology where he holds the rank of Instructor. He oversees the technical side of registry procedures for reporting of cases via hospital registries, pathology laboratories, hospital discharge data, and Meaningful Use.  His work focuses on developing and improving methods to improve registry efficiency and provide services to researchers; for example, he has conducted data linkage of registry-related datasets and devised a single mechanism to obtain New Hampshire cancer reports from multiple Veterans Administration facilities. His published work tackles important issues in registry operations, including a proposed new infrastructure for cancer incidence reporting, called an event-driven data model. He has also written on the collection of race and ethnicity and processes of recording death and death clearance in cancer registries. He has extensive research and data analysis experience in a variety of areas including public finance, law, clinical studies, accounting, and sociology. He came to Dartmouth from Syracuse University, where he was the Director of the Maxwell School’s Computing & Technology Group, providing services to 130 faculty, 90 support staff, and 6,600 students. In 2017 he finished a two year term as Treasurer for the North American Association of Central Cancer Registries.
