This spring, Dartmouth welcomes monastics from the Plum Village tradition for a week of shared mindfulness practice, reflection, and community. Rooted in the teachings of Thich Nhat Hanh, these offerings invite Dartmouth students, faculty, staff, alumni, and community members to slow down, reconnect, and experience mindfulness as a living, embodied practice – one that meets the realities of academic life, work, relationships, and the wider world.
Now in its fourth year at Dartmouth, the Plum Village monastic visit has become a valued campus tradition, offering simple and profound practices for meeting strong emotions, navigating difficulty, and remembering our shared humanity. The week includes meditation retreats and daily practice sessions with the monastics, featuring guided meditation, mindful movement, dharma talks, mindful eating, live music, and space for meaningful connection.
Most events are free and open to the Dartmouth community and the public, unless otherwise posted.
