Dr. Sarah Robertson Presents on Methods and Challenges in Transportability Research at SER Digit Series

On January 14, the SER Student and Postdoc Committee hosted a session on transportability research as part of its Digit Series. Dr. Sarah Robertson, Assistant Professor in the Department of Epidemiology at the Geisel School of Medicine at Dartmouth, together with Eleanor Hayes-Larson, presented emerging methods for extending evidence beyond the original study sample. The session covered the conceptual foundations of transportability, key methodological considerations, and common challenges in applied research. It also highlighted analytic strategies for transporting findings from both clinical trials and observational studies to target populations, offering practical insights for researchers seeking to improve the external validity of their work.
