Dr. Anne (Annie) Nigra is an Assistant Professor of Environmental Health Sciences at the Columbia University Mailman School of Public Health. She is an environmental health scientist (PhD, Columbia University Mailman School of Public Health '20) and environmental epidemiologist (ScM Epidemiology, Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health '16). Dr. Nigra also directs the EARTH Program, an environmental health sciences research program for high school students and teachers from rural tribal communities. Dr. Nigra's long-term scientific goal is to reduce racial/ethnic and socioeconomic inequities in environmental exposures and related adverse health outcomes, and improve health for all. Her work focuses on drinking water and environmental metal exposures, and spans the disciplines of epidemiology, exposure sciences, policy assessment, and community-directed research.
