First author Leyre Notario Barandiaran, MPH, PhD, postdoctoral researcher in the Department of Epidemiology at the Geisel School of Medicine, notes: “The study highlights that adherence to the 2020–2025 Dietary Guidelines for Americans during pregnancy is generally low, yet better adherence is associated with healthier gestational weight gain, emphasizing the need for improved nutritional guidance to support optimal maternal and fetal health.”
