Epidemiology Researcher Collaborates on Initiative to Capture the Incidence of Neonatal Abstinence Syndrome in Real Time

Meagan Stabler, Epidemiology Research Scientist, contributed to a study published in Pediatric Research that captured the statewide incidence of neonatal abstinence syndrome (NAS) in West Virginia using a real-time statewide surveillance system. The paper evaluates the extent to which NAS has increased in the past few years in a state that, like New Hampshire, has been significantly impacted by the opioid crisis.
