Geisel Anki Project<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

A collaboration among Geisel students, faculty, administration and the Ankihub company, this thread, 1) determines how to best integrate Anki into the Geisel curriculum; 2) provides student training and support to make Anki accessible; and 3) assesses the impact of Anki use on academic performance and student well-being.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    An institutional quality improvement initiative with research implications, this thread 1) evaluates the effectiveness of Geisel\u2019s board preparation efforts; 2) develops and evaluates innovative approaches to board preparation; 3) develops models for early detection of students who may benefit from enhanced board exam preparation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Mental Imagery to Improve Surgical Practice<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

    This thread, a collaboration with the DHMC Department of Orthopaedics, and directed by Dr Marcus Coe, explores the efficacy of self-directed mental imagery rehearsal (MI) as an alternative and adjuvant to traditional hands-on surgical training to improve practice among surgical resident trainees. MI presents a potential tool for neurodiverse trainees and a means to improve the efficacy and efficiency of hands-on training.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Performance & Outcomes for Health Science Learners with Disabilities<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

    This thread encompasses the shared work of a multi-institutional team led by Dr. Lisa Meeks and the Docs with Disabilities Initiative to investigate the performance and outcomes of medical students with disabilities. The project is currently in its second phase, which is examining the intersection of URM status and disability on medical student outcomes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
