The theme for this year is \u201cOur Cultures in Bloom,\u201d celebrating the living, breathing tapestry of communities that make up the Asian diaspora here at Geisel. This month, we honor those stories \u2014 particularly as it relates to home, memories, and food\u2014 as we celebrate common connections and ways our differences make us stronger and more vibrant. Through shared meals, powerful stories, moments of learning, and celebration, our APIDA<\/span> Heritage Month events are the soil where community takes root.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n We invite you to join us, as the DICE Office, the Asian Pacific American Medical Student Association (APAMSA), the South Asian Medical Student Association (SAMSA), MPH students, the Center for Digestive Health, and the Office of Pluralism and Leadership (OPAL) come together this May, to celebrate the 2026 Geisel APIDA<\/span> Heritage Month. \n<\/strong>Night markets across the Pan Asian community represent a place of sustenance, for both food and community. Mass Row will be lined with cuisines from regions across Asia and Pacifika. Staffed with student volunteers and enlivened by diverse music and games, this night market presents the opportunity of festive cultural exchange. Food available while supplies last! \n<\/strong>Join us for a presentation on the history of pickling, the cultural significance of pickles in different Asian cultures, and overall benefits of eating pickles and fermented foods led by clinical dietician, Tara Fredette, MS, RD, LDN, CSOWM. After the presentation, participants will be making their own pickles using a recipe! Bring your own glass jar with a lid if you wish to participate.
