The annual Dr. Martin Luther King. Jr. I am the Dream: The Past, Present & Future<\/strong><\/span> awards ceremony will take place on Jan. 17, 2025, from 12:00pm-1:30pm<\/strong> in Auditorium E&F at Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center (DHMC). The community event honors the life and legacy of MLK for what would have been his 96th birthday.<\/p>\n

The theme<\/u><\/strong> for this year\u2019s Luncheon and Forum is:<\/p>\n

\u201cFood is Medicine: A Novel for Building Health Equity\u00a0Through Food<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

As we commemorate the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., we within the Geisel and Dartmouth Health community can reflect on his impact and work to end hunger<\/u><\/strong> and food insecurity<\/u><\/strong> as part of his civil rights fight.\u00a0 Dr. King once said, \"Why should there be hunger and deprivation in any land, in any city, at any table, when man has the resources and the scientific know-how to provide all mankind with the basic necessities of life?\" <\/em><\/strong>His question resonates today, as we tackle food insecurity in our communities. Dr. King understood that food equity was a critical component of social justice.<\/p>\n

Please join members<\/strong> of the Geisel and Dartmouth Health community as we salute the 2025 awardees below<\/u><\/strong> for their achievements and service to our community and for representing the ideals of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.<\/p>\n
