2025 Asian Pacific Islander Desi American Heritage Month

2025 Asian Pacific Islander Desi American Heritage Month Celebration

Asian Pacific Islander Desi American (APIDA) Heritage Month is a month to celebrate and pay tribute to the contributions that generations of Asian, Pacific Islander, and Desi Americans have made to the history, culture, and society of the United States of America.

We invite you to join us, the DICE Office, Office of Alumni Engagement, Asian Pacific American Medical Student Association (APAMSA), South Asian Medical Student Association (SAMSA), and Geisel Student Government, as we come together in the month of May to celebrate the 2025 Geisel APIDA Heritage Month. Everyone is welcome to attend!

Part One: A Conversation with Dr. Patrick Ho
Join us for an informal and inspiring conversation with Dr. Patrick Ho, Assistant Professor of Psychiatry, Assistant Program Director of the Psychiatry Residency Program, Program Director of the Consultation-Liaison Psychiatry Fellowship at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center, and newly elected President of the New Hampshire Medical Society. Dr. Ho will share his journey as an Asian American in medicine, reflect on the importance of cultural identity, and speak about the role of food in both health and community. This session begins at 5:30 PM and will be offered in a hybrid format.

Part Two: Cooking and Community
Right after Dr. Ho’s session, we invite you to enjoy a hands-on culinary experience with student leaders from APAMSA and SAMSA. You will learn about traditional ingredients and prepare cultural dishes while connecting with fellow community members.
