To support you, we\u2019ve compiled a list of grants, scholarships, and research funding specifically for medical students interested in dermatology. These opportunities can help cover research projects, educational expenses, and professional development.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Most of these funding sources require you to partner with a faculty mentor. See contact information below if you need assistance finding a mentor or have questions about the application process.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Kathryn A. Zug Medical Student Research Scholarship in Dermatology<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Zug Medical Student Research Scholarship will offer\u00a0$2000 or $4000<\/strong>\u00a0to a Geisel medical student to support their time performing research with the Dartmouth Health Department of Dermatology. The student will be mentored by a dermatology faculty member during their summer break between Year 1 and 2.\u00a0 A number of clinical and translational research opportunities are available. In addition, other dermatology faculty may be available as research mentors and new student project ideas are welcome to be submitted for consideration.\u00a0Students will be required to present their research at the Geisel Poster Night (Fall) and the Dermatology Research Night (Winter) in addition to any other conferences or manuscript submissions<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n

American Academy of Dermatology (AAD) Diversity Mentorship Program<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

This program encourages medical students from underrepresented backgrounds to learn more about dermatology by pairing them with mentors for a minimum of four weeks.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n

\n

Skin of Color Society (SOCS) Dermatology Research Award<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

This award provides annual research grants of up to $20,000 to promote dermatology research within the field of skin of color. Eligible applicants include dermatology residents, research fellows, and early-career dermatologists.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n

Pediatric Dermatology Research Alliance (PeDRA) Research Fellowships<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

PeDRA offers one-year mentored research fellowships for medical students or recent graduates interested in pediatric dermatology.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n

Society for Pediatric Dermatology (SPD) Mentorship & Medical Student Mentorship Awards<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The SPD offers competitive grants and awards each year to support the field of pediatric dermatology, including mentorship awards for medical students.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n
