Wilson, MD, MPH, MS-HPEd, department chair and professor of community and family medicine and professor of health policy and clinical practice, will be leaving Dartmouth Health and the Geisel School of Medicine at the end of this year to accept a role as chief clinical officer of primary care and family medicine chair at Hackensack Meridian Health in New Jersey.<\/p>\n<p>Dr. Wilson joined Dartmouth Health and Geisel in 2022 after serving as chair of family medicine at Maine Medical Center and as vice chair of education in family and community medicine at the University of California, San Francisco. Throughout her career, she has been dedicated to advancing family medicine, developing inclusive learning environments and improving community health through clinical care, research and advocacy.<\/p>\n<p>In sharing her news, Dr. Wilson said, \u201cIt has been a privilege to serve alongside such talented and dedicated colleagues, and I\u2019m deeply grateful for the work we\u2019ve done together on behalf of our patients, learners and communities.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>We are grateful for Beth\u2019s leadership and wish her the very best in this next chapter.<\/p>\n<p>Interim Chair Appointment<br \/>\nAs we begin this transition, we are pleased to announce that Julie Scott Taylor, MD, MSc, has agreed to serve as interim department chair of community and family medicine for Dartmouth Health and the Geisel School of Medicine, effective January 5, 2026. <\/p>\n<p>Dr. Taylor will continue in her role as the associate dean for medical education at Geisel.<\/p>\n<p>Dr. Taylor also serves as professor of community and family medicine and of medical education and maintains an active clinical practice at Dartmouth Hitchcock Clinics Heater Road. After previously serving as an adjunct assistant professor of community and family medicine at Geisel from 2002 to 2007, she returned to Dartmouth in 2024 after holding senior academic and leadership positions at the Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University, American University of the Caribbean School of Medicine, and Saba University School of Medicine. Her work has included leading curriculum reform, directing faculty development programs, chairing academic committees and contributing to efforts in family medicine education, breastfeeding medicine and clinical skills training.<\/p>\n<p>Throughout her career, Dr. Taylor has demonstrated a deep commitment to advancing medical education, supporting learners across the continuum and improving the health of patients and communities through primary care. <\/p>\n<p>Please join us in thanking Dr. Wilson for her service and welcoming Dr. Taylor to this important interim role.<\/p>\n<p><em>Steven D.
