Gangadharan, MD, MHCM (D \u201990, MED \u201996)"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"report_image\" style=\"width: 400px\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"shadow\" style=\"width: 390px\" src=\"https:\/\/geiselmed.dartmouth.edu\/deansoffice\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/66\/2020\/06\/gangadharan.jpg\" \/><\/div>\n<p>Sidhu Gangadharan is a Professor of Surgery at Harvard Medical School and Chief of the Division of Thoracic Surgery and Interventional Pulmonology at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center (BIDMC) in Boston, MA. He is a graduate of Dartmouth College and Dartmouth Medical School. In 2019, he obtained a Master of Health Care Management from Harvard T. H. Chan School of Public Health.<\/p>\n<p>As a general thoracic surgeon, Sidhu has been focused on thoracic malignancies as well as benign complex airway disease. He completed his internship, residency, research fellowship, and cardiothoracic residency at Brigham and Women\u2019s Hospital, Harvard Medical School. Since joining the faculty of BIDMC in 2005, Sidhu has been instrumental in developing a multidisciplinary collaboration that has led to significant advances in the evaluation and treatment of adult patients with tracheobronchomalacia. Sidhu expertise in the surgical treatment of this disease is well recognized, and he has lectured extensively nationally and internationally on the topic. In addition, he has operated at several institutions around the United States in order to proctor other thoracic surgeons on the surgical technique for repair. He has authored over 100 original articles, reviews, editorials, and chapters. He has been selected as one of Boston Magazine\u2019s \u2018Top Doctors\u2019 and has been awarded the \u2018Outstanding Filipino-American Physician Award\u2019 by the Philippine Medical Association of New England. He serves on the editorial boards of the Journal of Thoracic Disease and Pleura.<\/p>\n<p>In the education realm, Sidhu serves as Program Director for the Cardiothoracic Residency Program at BIDMC, and he is an Assistant Program Director for the General Surgery Residency. He has won multiple teaching awards during his time as a surgical trainee and also as a faculty member, and he spent a year as a Rabkin Fellow in Medical Education.<\/p>\n<p>Sidhu and his wife, Jenn, have raised their four children in Brookline, MA. His community service also includes membership on the boards of the Brookline Soccer Club as well as the Brookline Center for Community Mental Health.
