\"DeanJennifer Hunt, MD, MEd,<\/strong> an internationally recognized pathologist and physician-scientist, serves as the dean of Dartmouth\u2019s Geisel School of Medicine. She is the first woman to lead Geisel in the medical school's 229-year history.<\/p>\n

Prior to her appointment as dean in 2026, Dr. Hunt served as interim dean of the University of Florida College of Medicine, where she was the Folke H. Peterson Dean's Distinguished Professor. She also served as chair of the UF College of Medicine\u2019s Department of Pathology, Immunology and Laboratory Medicine and chief of the hospital medical staff at UF Health Shands Hospital and clinics.<\/p>\n

Dean Hunt received her medical degree and a concurrent master\u2019s degree in education from the University of Pennsylvania, where she also completed a residency in anatomic pathology and a fellowship in molecular genetic pathology. She has held academic appointments and leadership roles at the University of Pittsburgh, the Cleveland Clinic, Harvard Medical School\/Massachusetts General Hospital, and the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences.\u00a0 While at the University of Arkansas, she served for nearly a decade as the Aubrey J. Hough Endowed Professor and chair of pathology, and served as the chief of staff, chair of the credentials committee and chair of the professionalism committee.<\/p>\n

An internationally known head-and-neck and molecular pathologist, Dean Hunt has authored more than 160 peer-reviewed scientific publications in her subspecialty. She has served in elected roles, including on boards of directors and in leadership for various organizations, including the College of American Pathologists, the Association for Molecular Pathologists and the Association for Academic Pathology.<\/p>\n
