Dr. Kransnoff \u201978 was a beloved primary care doctor at the Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center (DHMC) who sadly passed away in 2015 from an accidental fall. Family and friends are continuing her cherished interests by supporting the DHMC\/Dartmouth College community in projects, research, and teaching initiatives focused on:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>the health and well-being of older adults<\/li>\n<li>medical education for learners pursuing work in primary care<\/li>\n<li>the promotion of healthy nutrition and plant-based diets<\/li>\n<li>international health promotion in developing countries<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.nnedpro.org.uk\/summer-school\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright wp-image-1436\" src=\"https:\/\/geiselmed.dartmouth.edu\/che\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/39\/2022\/03\/Benefits_web.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"400\" height=\"463\" srcset=\"https:\/\/geiselmed.dartmouth.edu\/cghe\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/39\/2022\/03\/Benefits_web.jpg 640w, https:\/\/geiselmed.dartmouth.edu\/cghe\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/39\/2022\/03\/Benefits_web-259x300.jpg 259w, https:\/\/geiselmed.dartmouth.edu\/cghe\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/39\/2022\/03\/Benefits_web-48x55.jpg 48w, https:\/\/geiselmed.dartmouth.edu\/cghe\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/39\/2022\/03\/Benefits_web-580x671.jpg 580w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 400px) 100vw, 400px\" \/><\/a>The generous grant allows CGHE to cover registration for 12 students, staff, and faculty members to participate in the virtual NNEdPro Summer School nutrition intensive sponsored by the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.nnedpro.org.uk\/\">NNEdPro Global Centre for Nutrition<\/a>. NNEdPro, an acronym for Need for Nutrition Education\/Innovation Programme, is an independent nonprofit social enterprise established in 2008 and headquartered at the St John\u2019s Innovation Centre \u2013 which is part of the University of Cambridge in the UK. Its mission is <i>\u201cto tackle the global crisis of malnutrition (in all forms) by conducting research, delivering education in gap areas, and empowering professionals, policymakers and the public - to facilitate sustainable improvements in nutrition and health behavior, and accelerate progress towards the\u00a0<\/i><a href=\"https:\/\/sdgs.un.org\/goals\"><i>United Nations\u00a02030 goals<\/i><\/a><i>.\u201d<\/i><i>\u00a0\u00a0<\/i><\/p>\n<p>The Summer School features global nutrition experts in medicine, nutrition, and academia who will present on:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>basic concepts in human nutrition<\/li>\n<li>nutrition research methods<\/li>\n<li>nutrition in disease prevention<\/li>\n<li>nutrition in healthcare<\/li>\n<li>nutrition public health and policy<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>Attendees in healthcare or related backgrounds have the option to undertake an assessment at the end of the course to obtain a certificate of competence in Applied Human Nutrition, accredited by the British Royal College of Physicians and the Royal Society of Biology, for continuing professional development purposes. Attendees<b>\u00a0<\/b>also get free access to the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nnedpro.org.uk\/summit\">8th NNEdPro International Summit in July 2022<\/a>, as well as a 1-year membership as an associate member of the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.nnedpro.org.uk\/iane\">International Academy of Nutrition Educators\u00a0<\/a>(IANE).<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.nnedpro.org.uk\/vision-mission\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft wp-image-1437\" src=\"https:\/\/geiselmed.dartmouth.edu\/che\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/39\/2022\/03\/NutritionAndTheSDGs_web.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"400\" height=\"515\" srcset=\"https:\/\/geiselmed.dartmouth.edu\/cghe\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/39\/2022\/03\/NutritionAndTheSDGs_web.jpg 640w, https:\/\/geiselmed.dartmouth.edu\/cghe\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/39\/2022\/03\/NutritionAndTheSDGs_web-233x300.jpg 233w, https:\/\/geiselmed.dartmouth.edu\/cghe\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/39\/2022\/03\/NutritionAndTheSDGs_web-43x55.jpg 43w, https:\/\/geiselmed.dartmouth.edu\/cghe\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/39\/2022\/03\/NutritionAndTheSDGs_web-580x747.jpg 580w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 400px) 100vw, 400px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The Summer School convenes May 7th through June 4th in an online, blended format for self-directed learning, with live sessions occurring over the first four Saturdays in May \u2013 all lectures are recorded.
