The Patient and Community Innovation Initiative brings together patients, caregivers, alumni, faculty, staff, and students across Geisel, Thayer, and Tuck to drive patient-l<\/span>ed research and innovation. Rooted in l<\/span>ived experience, the Initiative ensures that solutions address real needs\u2014improving relevance, adoption, and l<\/span>ong-term impact.<\/span><\/div>\n

Starting with patient priorities consistently l<\/span>eads to breakthrough ideas, especially for complex problems and l<\/span>ongstanding health inequities that traditional, top-down approaches have failed to solve.\u00a0<\/span><\/div>\n

    Patient, Community, and Scientist Innovation Training Institute

    A training hub called the \"Partnership Academy\" that equips patients, community partners, and investigators with <\/span>skills in equitable, collaborative, and culturally responsive research.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/li>\n

    Partner Repository

    A dynamic database of patients, caregivers, and community organizations interested <\/span>in partnering on research, innovation, and evaluation efforts.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/li>\n

    Patient and Community Pitch Program

    A structured forum currently in development where patients propose new research questions, identify unmet needs, <\/span>and present solution concepts for co-development with Dartmouth teams.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

    Track Record and Distinction<\/b><\/span><\/div>\n

    This model has already generated over $3 million in research funding and supported collaborations. The Department of <\/span>Community and Family Medicine has built an international collaborative of patient l<\/span>eaders, health systems, and industry partners and developed Dartmouth\u2019s Partnership Academy\u2014an immersive community-based participatory research program now used across Dartmouth systems of care to identify stakeholder-driven gaps and co-design solutions.<\/span><\/span><\/div>\n
