We are<\/span> excited to announce that Spencer Krieger, PhD will be joining the Department of Biomedical Data Science at Geisel as an Assistant Professor! Spencer is a computational biologist whose research sits at the intersection of computation, AI, and biology\u2014exactly where the field is heading. Coming from a Lane Postdoctoral Fellowship at Carnegie Mellon University, where he works with Jian Ma, Spencer brings expertise in...<\/p>\n

Spencer's recent work on unified spatial transcriptomics integration (Genome Research, 2025; RECOMB 2025) is already shaping how we approach multi-platform data. He'll join us as a Research Project Leader on the CQB COBRE Center, bringing deep expertise in the computational and AI methods that define modern biomedical data science. Spencer will be synergistic with investigators across BMDS and CQB.<\/p>\n

This hire signals something important: the future of biomedical data science belongs to people who can fluently speak computation, AI, and biology. Spencer does that exceptionally well.<\/p>\n

Dr. Subha<\/span>rup \u201cSubha<\/span>\u201d Guha<\/span><\/span><\/h2>\n

We are very excited to welcome<\/span> Dr. Subha<\/span>rup \u201cSubha<\/span>\u201d Guha<\/span> to the Department of Biomedical Data Science and The Dartmouth Cancer Center as a Professor of Biomedical Data Science. Subha<\/span> was one of five outstanding short-listed candidates in an overall very competitive search that involved many tough decisions for the Search Committee and senior leadership. Subha<\/span> emerged as the top ranked candidate and following his second visit to Dartmouth we were thrilled that he accepted the position. Subha<\/span> has been effusive in his excitement about all aspects of his new position. We firmly believe that he is a great fit for our community and that he will excel in this position just as the position will be great for him! Subha<\/span> joined Dartmouth as of September 1, 2025.<\/span><\/p>\n

Subha<\/span> was formerly an Associate Professor in the Department of Biostatistics at the University of Florida, and before that he was in the Department of Statistics at the University of Missouri. Subha<\/span>\u2019s research interests include non-parametric Bayesian inference, hidden Markov models, survival-time modeling, data integration, meta-analysis and causal inference. Subha uses techniques from both the traditional statistics and machine learning domains and applies his work to cancer applications spanning biological (omics), clinical medicine and health care. Subha has developed multiple R packages to help with reproducibility and dissemination of his work and is currently support by multiple ongoing grants, including one involving the Boston Lung Cancer Survival Cohort. Subha<\/span> is a wonderful addition to Biomedical Data Science, Dartmouth Cancer Center, Geisel, and greater Dartmouth!<\/p>\n

Emily<\/span> Presseller<\/span>, PhD<\/h2>\n

\"\"The Center for Technology and Behavioral Health (CTBH) and Department of Biomedical Data Science (BMDS) are pleased to welcome<\/span> Emily<\/span> Presseller<\/span>, PhD to our faculty. Emily<\/span> will additionally hold a faculty appointment in the Department of Psychiatry at the Geisel School of Medicine at Dartmouth.<\/p>\n

Emily<\/span> received her PhD in Clinical Psychology from Drexel University and completed her clinical internship at Johns Hopkins School of Medicine\/the Kennedy Krieger Institute. Her research has been funded by organizations including the National Institute of Mental Health, American Psychological Association, and Psi Chi. Emily<\/span>\u2019s lab at Dartmouth, the Scalable, Accessible Treatments for Eating Disorders and Related Psychopathology (SATED) Lab, will apply ecological data (e.g., ecological momentary assessments, sensor data) to understand maintenance of eating disorder symptoms in patients\u2019 daily lives and develop personalized, targeted digital interventions for eating and related psychopathology.<\/p>\n
