Postdoctoral Research Position in the Biomedical Data Science Department at Dartmouth

The Department of Biomedical Data Science at the Geisel School of Medicine at Dartmouth seeks multiple talented and motivated Postdoctoral Research Fellows. Specific areas of research and development for these positions include, but not limited to:

• Natural language processing on clinical text and electronic medical records
• Deep learning for medical image analysis (both microscopic and radiology images)
• Machine learning and predictive analysis for medical diagnosis, prognosis, and screening

The successful candidate should have a PhD in computer science, biomedical informatics, mathematics, engineering or a related field. At the Department of Biomedical Data Science, the applicant will have the opportunity to work in a multidisciplinary environment and collaborate with investigators from other Dartmouth departments, centers, and research institutes, such as the Department of Computer Science, Department of Epidemiology, Norris Cotton Cancer Center, Center for Technology and Behavioral Health, and Dartmouth SYNERGY.

Applicants should have a successful record of research accomplishments, evidenced by work experience and publications in informatics and computer science journals and conferences. Strong work experience in biomedical informatics, natural language processing, or image processing, proficiency in machine learning, deep learning, and statistics, and programming experience with Python are required. Experience with PyTorch or TensorFlow frameworks is highly desirable. The successful candidate should have excellent written and verbal communication skills to translate research activities and findings to research publications and contribute to proposals for extramural funding. The initial postdoctoral appointment will be for a one-year period with the possibility of an annual renewal contingent on the availability of funding.
