The Academy supports a community of health professions educators, fostering growth through collaboration, mentorship, and educational scholarship through a tiered membership structure<\/strong> designed to engage educators at various career stages.<\/span><\/p>\n

Membership types include Members<\/strong>, Associates<\/strong>, Fellows<\/strong>, Distinguished Educators<\/strong>, and Advisory Board Members<\/strong>.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n

Participation ranges from novice educators, including residents and students, to senior-level educators. Members contribute to the Academy by attending events, mentoring, and leading initiatives while benefiting from professional development, mentorship, and networking opportunities across the Geisel and Dartmouth Health community.<\/span><\/div>\n<\/td>\n

BECOMING A MEMBER<\/span><\/div>\n
Two ways to qualify for Member or Associate status<\/div>\n\n\n<\/p>\n\n

Register and track your attendance through CMECloud.<\/strong> Once you have completed the required number of activities through the CMECloud system, the Academy will proactively contact you and invite you to become a Member or Associate.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n

Activities that count toward membership include:<\/strong><\/span>
\nLive in-person or virtual activities, enduring materials such as recordings of past events, and activities sponsored or co-sponsored by the Academy.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n

Member<\/span><\/td>\nParticipate in a minimum of four offerings<\/strong> before achieving Member status.<\/span><\/p>\n

Member status continues for the duration of time at Geisel\/Dartmouth Health if there is participation in at least one offering per year<\/strong> after achieving Member status.<\/span><\/td>\n

Attendance at educational events<\/span><\/td>\n<\/tr>\n

<\/p>\n

Associate<\/span><\/td>\nComplete a Foundational Skills Series<\/strong> in either Educator or Educator Scholar.<\/span><\/p>\n

Associate status continues for the duration of time at Geisel\/Dartmouth Health if there is participation in at least one offering per year<\/strong> after achieving Associate status.<\/span><\/td>\n

Attend and contribute to events<\/span><\/td>\n<\/tr>\n

<\/p>\n

Fellow<\/span><\/td>\nContribute to one Academy-sponsored event<\/strong> and attend three additional events.<\/span><\/td>\nShare expertise and contribute to the Academy community<\/span><\/td>\n<\/tr>\n

<\/p>\n

Distinguished Educator<\/span><\/td>\nDemonstrate mentoring of three or more educators<\/strong> in areas such as manuscript writing, conference submissions, teaching sessions, statistical analysis, or medical education scholarly work including IRB submissions and grants.<\/span><\/p>\n

Review this guide<\/strong><\/a><\/span> and then self-report your qualifications using this form<\/a>.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Commit to mentoring at least two Academy members<\/strong> who request support each year.<\/span><\/p>\n

Distinguished Educator status continues for the duration of time at Geisel\/Dartmouth Health if there is mentoring of two Academy members annually.<\/span><\/td>\n

Lead initiatives and provide mentorship<\/span><\/td>\n<\/tr>\n

<\/p>\n

Advisory Board Member<\/span><\/td>\nParticipate in quarterly Advisory Board meetings<\/strong>.<\/span><\/p>\n

Offer guidance and leadership to support the Academy's mission and vision.<\/span><\/p>\n

Advocate for the Academy by serving as a champion in your area of education and disseminating Academy opportunities.<\/span><\/p>\n

Network with other leaders to build support and engagement for the Academy.<\/span><\/td>\n

Provide guidance, leadership, advocacy, and community connections<\/span><\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n

Share your expertise as an Academy teacher<\/div>\n
Fellow membership is achieved by invitation to participate as a teacher in an Academy-sponsored or co-sponsored activity. Associates are prioritized for teaching invitations, while the Academy Co-Directors and Advisory Board may also invite educators from outside the Academy community based on demonstrated expertise in teaching teachers.<\/span><\/div>\n<\/td>\n
