Teaching Bootcamp

The Geisel Academy of Educators and Scholars' Teaching Bootcamp is an immersive, hands-on program designed to equip early-career educators (e.g., residents, novice educators) all the way through seasoned faculty with essential skills in teaching and curriculum design. It is offered several times a year with a changing curriculum.

The Teaching Bootcamp offers participants the opportunity to:

  • Gain practical teaching experience through interactive workshops and peer feedback.
  • Learn how to build courses and develop effective curriculum tailored to health professions education
  • Engage in small group mentorship with experienced educators, fostering growth in teaching capacities.
  • Build a strong professional network with colleagues across various health professions.

Participating will help participants to strengthen their instructional skills, broadened and cultivate relationships that support continued professional development. The Teaching Bootcamp is a cornerstone offering for Associate Fellows and a stepping stone toward advanced roles in health professions education.

Educational Research Bootcamp

The Geisel Academy of Educators and Scholars' Research Bootcamp is an immersive, hands-on program designed to support educators with an interest in disseminating their work through conferences and publishing. It will be offered several times a year with a changing curriculum, beginning in Summer 2025.

The Research Bootcamp will offer participants the opportunity to:

  • Develop foundational skills in educational research, including study design, data analysis, and publication strategies.
  • Explore strategies for leveraging existing educational duties (e.g., teaching, mentoring, course design, administrative leadership) for dissemination to a wider audience.
  • Engage in small group mentorship with experienced educational researchers, fostering growth in educational research capacities.
  • Build a strong a community of colleagues across various health professions to support you in your writing and research.

Participants will strengthen their educational research skills, broadened their understanding of educational scholarship, and cultivating relationships that support continued growth and development. The Research Bootcamp is designed to be useful for all Academy participants who want to develop as researchers, from Associate Fellows to Distinguished Educators.
