Application Instructions
The selection of new scholars occurs shortly after the beginning of each academic year. Four scholars are selected each year in time to take part in the fall immersion trip to Boston. Scholars are usually selected from the first year class, but students from any year are welcome to apply. The selection process consists of a written application discussing your interests and experiences in urban health and underserved communities, followed by an interview with the current scholars and advisors. Keep a lookout for the UHS information session near the start of the fall term where we will be on hand to tell you more about UHS and answer any questions you may have.
Application Timeline
Friday, August 19th
UHS Orientation with first year students; 12:15 pm, Kellogg Auditorium.
Tuesday, August 30th
UHS Applications due by Midnight. Applications can be either submitted electronically or a hard copy dropped off to Shawn O'Leary in Remsen 333.
Thursday, September 1st
UHS interviews in Remsen 332 Conference Room; 5-9 pm.
Friday, September 2nd
UHS selections finalized. Notifications sent via email.
