The Psychiatric Partial Hospitalization Program

The Psychiatric Partial Hospitalization Program (PPHP) is a skill-based outpatient treatment program. The program is based on mindfulness, and a cognitive-behavioral approach to health. Patients participate in skill-based, structured groups during the day and return home at night. While involved in the program, patients learn new ways of managing symptoms and coping with stress. The groups focus on different skills, including mindfulness, psycho-education, emotion regulation, distorted thinking, communication, and stress management. When away from the program patients practice these skills in their daily environment. The number of prescribed days is based on the patient's needs and is determined on admission. The average length of stay is four to six visits.
