The Upper New England Neuroscience Graduate Student Retreat

Thank you to everyone who participated in the 2015 Upper New England Neuroscience Graduate Student Retreat! This year the retreat will be hosted by the University of Vermont. Please see the information below and consider attending this fabulous event!

Following the successful first annual Upper New England graduate-student-only Neuroscience Retreat in 2015, the University of Vermont is proud to host the second annual event this July! We propose an afternoon of "chalk talks" and sharing of scientific ideas followed by an evening at the UVM Outing Club Cabin (Bolton, VT) with a campfire dinner. Hiking, chatting, eating, and networking will be strongly encouraged! Our hope is that this overnight retreat will foster cross campus communications, collaborations, and scientific growth amongst graduate students.

The retreat will be held this summer from Saturday, July 30th until Sunday, July 31st. Check-in will begin on the 30th at 1:00PM. Then attendees will give short "chalk talk" style presentations of their research without the aid of technology. Following talks, students will enjoy a relaxed picnic dinner and gather around a campfire to socialize and meet students from other universities and colleges. Students are invited to spend the night, but are advised that the accommodations are rustic, and students should plan to bring a sleeping bag (and potentially a sleeping pad as well). Camping IS permitted, so attendees are also welcome to bring a tent.
