The Alumni Gym offers a wide variety of fitness classes such as yoga, spinning, strength training, and dance--there is something for everyone! Class availability and cost depends on the length of the class and the instructor.

Dartmouth Cross-Country Ski Center

During winter time, this is a great place to sled for free with your own sled or tube. You can also cross country ski, ice skate, or snow shoe for a very low fee. Rentals are available at the Dartmouth Outing Club house at Occom Pond.

Dartmouth Skiway

A great option for skiing just a few miles away from Hanover. It offers affordable tickets and family packages. Ski and snowboard school, as well as rentals, are available.

Ledyard Canoe Club

Located on the Connecticut River, next to the Dartmouth boat house at the base of the Ledyard Bridge. Canoes and kayaks are available to rent. Don't confuse this with the restaurant in Hanover!

Thompson Arena

Public skating is available from September to mid-March. Call in for schedules and fees. Figure skating lessons for beginners, intermediate and advanced are held on this site.

Dartmouth Riding Center at Morton Farm

Riding lessons are offered for anyone between the ages of 6 and 70 at all levels and abilities. Morton Farm offers boarding to 14 horses each year.

This is open to any registered student at Dartmouth, as well as community members. Some activities include ice climbing, winter camping, hiking, cross-country skiing and ice skating.

The Hanover Country Club

This is home to Dartmouth's public 18-hole championship golf course. The 5,876-yard layout was built in 1899. Instructions and club rentals are available.

Occom Pond Skating and Sledding

Just north of campus is Occom Pond, a popular skating spot for adults and children. In winter, the pond freezes over and is subsequently plowed with designated areas for pickup hockey games and a large circle for free skating. The Dartmouth Outing Club (DOC) lodge next door offers rentals of both hockey and figure skates. If you love sledding, the golf course across the street from Occom Pond has a large open hill, where you can enjoy sledding and snow tubing.
