Previous In Poetry and Prose Reading Series

Take a noontime time break! Bring your lunch! Bring a friend, colleague or patient! Enjoy, relax and educate yourself at one of our "In Poetry and Prose" reading series presentations.

The Koop Institute, in cooperation with DHMC Volunteer Services and the Art Committee, sponsors "In Poetry and Prose," a lunch time reading series focusing on issues related to heath and medicine. The series has featured the works of a wide range of authors, including doctors and nurses, medical students, patients and their family members, as well as community members.

The monthly readings are held at the medical center and draw varied audiences of hospital staff, medical and undergraduate students and Upper Valley community members. Each reading touches upon health issues in some respect or another.

Recent "In Poetry and Prose" have included poetry, short stories and memoirs written by physicians, a lecture/demonstration by a healing clown, and a drama workshop.
