I had gone in search of winter landscapes
White on white on white -
Snowy sheets laid over earth's old bones,
cracked, crackled parchment leaves.
Echoes muted,
shortening of days, low glimmer light.
Storms drove me inside (in more ways than one);
Visiting the elderly,
I found white on white on white -
Snowy sheets laid over weary bones,
cracked, crackled parchment leaving
echoes, muted into shortening of days,
A low glimmer's light.
