CBT for Weight Loss
Group therapy for weight loss will teach you how to apply the proven benefits of cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) to your diet and weight loss efforts by training you to think differently, improve your eating behavior, and to keep weight off permanently! Research has shown that CBT for weight loss is currently one of the most effective methods of losing weight and keeping it off. Through this program you will develop lifelong skills to:
- End emotional eating
- Deal with trigger situations
- Find a space for exercise in your life
- Make cravings go away without eating
- Handle self-sabotaging thoughts
- Lose weight and keep it off for good!
Therapy is conducted weekly in a small group of no more than 3 to 6 people, promoting an environment of understanding and peer support. The 90 minute sessions are conveniently offered in the evenings and broken into 3 modules each 4 weeks long. Group fees are exceptionally affordable and charged on a module-by-module basis. To optimize your health and well-being, the therapist will readily collaborate with other members of your multidisciplinary health care team as needed. Individual psychotherapy is also offered to those individuals who desire additional support. At Hanover Psychiatry, our experienced clinicians are knowledgeable in the psychology of Bariatric Surgery and happy to provide psychological evaluations for any individual wishing to pursue surgery as part of their weight loss plan.
