Professional Interests:

Our laboratory is involved in (i) determining the roles of the aryl hydrocarbon receptor in adult-onset diseases and trans-generational epigenetic inheritance from in utero and direct exposures to environmental toxicants and high-fat diets, (ii) the dysregulation of gene regulation and identity of new biomarkers in pancreatic cancer, and (iii) the development of novel high-throughput genomics methods as a tool to predict the outcome of gene/environment interactions.

Rotations and Thesis Projects:

*The underlying molecular mechanism of the role of the toxicant- and fat-activated AHR in (i) obesity, (ii) heart disease, and (iii) cancer from in utero and direct exposures.
*New method development in genomics.
*Identifying new biomarkers in cancer.
