Virginia teaches in four courses that occur during Year 1 of the medical school curriculum: Human Anatomy & Embryology I and II, Neuroscience and Cells, Tissues & Organs. Virginia is the course director for HAE I and II, and in this role has introduced novel methods of pedagogy into the Year 1 curriculum. Virginia enjoys developing educational materials, and has experience with designing websites and creating iBooks. Virginia currently oversees Year 1 of the Geisel medical school curriculum, and serves on the Medical Education Committee and Geisel Council for Medical Education. She has attended numerous workshops about teaching, including the Active Learning Institute offered by the Dartmouth Center for the Advancement of Learning.
Virginia would be happy to mentor faculty about teaching in large or small group environments, designing educational materials, using technology in teaching and directing/organizing a course.
