This project explores role of candidate alleles in modulating cognitive and behavioral outcomes 1 month and 1 year after TBI. A subgroup undergo fMRI and structural imaging at those time points.
1R01HD047242: RCT Methylphenidate & Memory/Attention Training in TBI. NICHD. 7/01/06 – 2/28/11. (TW McAllister, PI)
This is a randomized placebo controlled 2X2 design assessing efficacy of methylphenidate and a cognitive rehab intervention in alleviating cognitive complaints and deficits 4-30 months after TBI. A subgroup undergo fMRI and structural imaging pre and post treatment.

This project works to equip nurses and family/caregivers to support individuals with TBI and neurobehavioral challenges.

This project uses helmet based accelerometers, structural and functional imaging, and neurocognitive assessment to study the effects of concussion and repetitive sub-concussive blows to the head in college student athletes (Dartmouth football and hockey players).

This project funds the Dartmouth TBI Research Program, the National Center for PTSD, and the Northern New England VA Research Consortium to be one of 10 participating clinical sites as part of a DOD PTSD/TBI Clinical Consortium.
