"Surgical Manipulation and Genetic Pleasures"

Dr. David Teplica, DMS '85, MFA
September 23, 2005

A visually rich exploration of the interface between medicine and arts, as it applies to the surface of the body and surgical manipulation of form.

In addition to his MD degree, Dr. Teplica also holds a Master in Fine Arts degree in photography. Both his medical research and creative photography focus on twin issues. He has produced the world's largest archive of over 10,000 twin photographs, many of which are in important corporate, private and museum collections. Teplica's detailed scientific analysis on the twin mirror phenomenon suggest changes in how human anatomy should be investigated.
