Visiting the Campus

Driving from Boston area (~2.5 hours) or Manchester area/Manchester Airport (~1.5 hours) to Dartmouth Medical School: Take I-93 North to I-89 North. From I-89 North, take Exit 18 (Lebanon, NH). Turn right from the exit ramp onto NH Route 120 north towards Hanover (~5 miles). In Hanover the road will fork at a traffic light. The Hanover Co-Op Service Center and Food Store will be on your right. Follow the right-hand road (North Park Street), which will end at a T-intersection with NH Route 10 (and a traffic light). Directly across the street is the driveway to the lower parking lot behind DMS. If you turn left at the intersection, to your immediate right will be "The Circle," which is the front entrance of Dartmouth Medical School. There is visitor parking off the circle, but if that is full, you may park in the lower lot. In either event, you will need to give your car make, model, color, and registration number to the Department Admin staff in 414 Vail to give to the Parking Office.

From Boston's Logan Airport there is also a regular coach service that stops at the Hanover Inn on campus. The Dartmouth Coach runs every 2 hours and stops both at South Station and Logan Airport. It picks up and drops off at both departing and arriving terminals in the airport.

Driving from Burlington, VT Airport (~1.5 hours): Take I-89 South to I-91 North. From I-91 North, take Exit 13 (Norwich, VT). Turn right from the exit ramp and cross the Ledyard Bridge into Hanover, NH. At the top of the hill there is a traffic light. The Dartmouth Green is to your left, and the Hanover Inn is on your right. To get to Dartmouth Medical School, turn left (north) onto NH Route 10 after passing the Green. (The left at the light is a one-way heading south.) DMS is on the left in the third block from the Green.

Driving from Western Massachusetts and points south: Take I-91 North to Exit 13 in Norwich, VT. Follow directions above.

If you are flying in from points north, south, east or west, it may be helpful to know that Dartmouth has a contract with Garber Travel, who is well versed about our area.
